The game

This week I was given some free Yankees game tickets at work. The tickets were supposedly pretty good but we didn't know how good until we actually got there. This was the view from our 2nd row seats behind the visitor dugout. AMAZING!

They were playing the Pirates and pretty much beat the snot out of them this game. It was such a fun game to go to.

It was an uncanny coincidence that we went to this baseball game of all Yankee baseball games and our good friends Matthew and Alex also has tickets to this game. Although we knew they were going, we really didn't expect to see them at all... If you squint you can see them in the stands behind the first base line up on the second level, you gotta look hard. The amazing thing about us going to this game was that we took the long way of getting there, we should have taken the E train but we took the F. We took the train to Manhattan, one of the most populated cities on earth, leave the Subway walk a few blocks and go down into another station to get on the 4 train. We enjoyed being in Manhattan, even if it was only for a few blocks, we took our time in our random path to the stadium, took some monologue video and went down the steps. As we approached the turnstyle who should appear down the steps behind us but Matthew and Alex. How random is that? So random. We parted ways as we went to our different gates.

The whole experience was that much better just because we took Hannah. She gets so much attention. The hecklers behind us enjoyed making ga-ga faces at her and they took our picture for us. They were funny because they were harassing the Pirate players. We were so close that the players obviously heard them, but because they ignored them, it only got worse, and more funny. Part of what was funny is that their drunk jokes were NOT that funny.

The ride home was funny because beer makes people not funny, which in turn, really is kind of funny. The train was packed. I don't remember the guy next to me but you think I would have, look how tall he is!

The train would stop and sway and every drunk body would be caught off guard and they would all "whoooa" all in unison.

In conclusion, the evening was very fun.

Shane is COOL!

This is a COOL story: Recently in New York, the weather has gone from COOL to not so COOL. Frankly, it's been swelteringly hot, especially in our apartment. Last week, on one unbearably hot, definitely not COOL, day, Shane Kelly Dyer paid us a visit; a pit stop on his way home from his COOL trip to Europe. Shane thought it would be COOL to go into the city to buy some stylish duds, you know, to look COOL, but he thought it would be COOLer to spend his day buying us an air conditioner so that we could be COOL. Hence, we have been one COOL happy little family ever since. Thanks Shane!

Bring in da noise!

Hannah has discovered her vocal chords and loves to hear herself "talk". She was so loud on Sunday I had to take her out of Relief Society because no one around me could hear the teacher. To hear what she has to say, click on the photo. To REALLY hear what she has to say would require a highly skilled professional trained in interpreting baby babble.
