Jumping on Christmas day

Minna and I jumped on the trampoline on Christmas day. Shane took pictures. I love my wife!

O, Christmas "Tree"

After not having a tree last year and the year before that, I swore I would have a tree this year. I was determined to get one at the very beginning of the month, but as the time for optimal tree-viewing enjoyment grew shorter (we'll be gone for Christmas), and the realization struck that we really had no place to put a tree, I decided to just make do with what we had. What do you do when life hands you lemons? Exactly!
This is what I came up with. Is it a tree? I would say that it's all a matter of perception. I mean, what is a "tree" anyway?

I have completed and sold my first box of photo cards for Miriam Lovell Photography. This is really fun!

The city is lit!

We went into the city for our young women's activity. Here we are at Rockefeller Center. Every place we went was so festive and beautiful for the holidays. This is one of the joys of the city. You just can't live here without being a part of it.

Uh oh!

Minna called me at work on Thursday and started by saying "I did a bad thing..." She continued by saying that she was backing up the car, and then I thought that there was probably something that we'll have to fix. I just imagined the back bumper dented and falling off and the lights broken out.

The story goes that while she was backing she had opened up the door to see how close to the curb she was and backed up just a little more, and the door hit a tree, a big solid tree. The door lodged against the tree rather than bent backwards. Because of the pressure on the door going directly against the frame of the car, the door became skewed a bit and the inside of the jam on the door was dented from the tree.

She tried to shut the door and it just hits the door jam, there is no latching, no forcing it to close, just a single "klonk", and the door pulls open again. The place on the door that will latch with the car is dented in and does not match up with the car.

Here in the bad photo, you can see how there is damage. Also look and see how the metal has become curved just below the latch. What you can't see is that under the vinyl good-looks of the interior, the metal is also caved in.



There will be more to come on this. We found a dude who does auto body repair out of his garage and he will fix it pretty quick and pretty cheap and comes well recommended. I'll recommend him when I get it back and see that the work is good.
