I have a question?

I must confess that I've been letting Minna do all the blogging recently. She's really been doing a great job. So many people have asked me (in person) to pass on compliments to Minna for the "Days Before Christmas" stuff she was doing. And I concur, it really was more Christmas-y this year doing all these activities. The the real purpose of my merging back into the blog-fest that Minna has been so wonderfully cranking out is to start asking questions. My questions will be patterned after the wildly popular "Question of the Day" that I ask at work, except for the 'day' part. It'll be more like "Question of the Week". I don't want to overwhelm the 3 relatives that actually read this blog. So here goes:

If you could go back on life and do something you were always afraid of doing what would you do?

ooh, i'll play. i love stuff like this. i'd try out for the high school play. that probably sounds so silly. but i wanted to at the time, but wasn't sure if i was good enough. so i made up excuses about why i couldn't do it {work, too busy, etc.} or why it was stupid to do it. i should have just DONE it! as for anything else, i'm glad that i have my whole future to be gutsy. and why not?!

Well Dan we dont know each other but I'm Janels husband Jim. So you have more than 3 family members reading the blog. But to answer your question when I was younger I was always the small guy and I didnt play any sports because of my size., and being scared of failure. So I would definately play more sports.

I know this is our blog but I want in too.
I would have taken an offer to play in the Rainier Symphony when I had the chance. Sure, it was second violins, last chair (last place as we called it), but still...that would have been so cool!

I would have jumped that 50 foot cliff at the Quarry. I always did the 30 foot, and made up excuses why I wouldn't hike up to the big one.

Count me in as the fourth family member... thoughtful question...I guess I would say I would have taken more dance training and competed more. I got married pretty young (19) so my dance career was shortened (although i was still teaching dance after Jenna was born and taking a point class when I was eight months pregnant with Merissa. Would I have gotten married later..hmmmm... then I might have missed two kids and I certainly wouldn't give them up. Lorin does dance with me in the kitchen often and we enjoy the dancing in Mexico immensely so I don't have any regrets. But in the next life i will be great!!!

i've been stalking your family for a while too...it's brittany, wyatt's wife.

when i was flying home from the philippines i got stuck in hong kong for a night (since i was flying stand-by). i spent a good portion of the day in the airport and only had the night to "tour" the city. i wish i would've been brave enough to stay a day or two longer. one reason i didn't was because i was a woman...alone. but the real reason i didn't - i was a poor college student and was too afraid to go into debt for a couple days of fun.

I would have talked to all those cute boys that I was afraid of. Wait... I guess I can still do that...And I would have pursued art. I guess I can still do that, but I am still afraid too.

How about next week you ask, how do we get over fears and face life?
