Reason for the Season-#4

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

I always look forward to making pumpkin chocolate cookies this time of year, and I only make them this time of year. For some reason, I don't feel right making them in another season, in April or July, for example.
I know there are some great recipes out there for these sweet treats, but here is how I make them:

3 eggs
3 c. sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 t. vanilla
2 c. pumpkin puree

Mix above.
Then add,

4 1/2 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. baking powder
2 t. cinnamon
2 t. nutmeg

Combine then add,
12 oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips

Dough will be quite "wet". Scoop onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375˚ for 13-15 minutes.
Makes at least 4 dozen.

Thanks for sharing these, Minna! It is so wonderful you and your family have created little traditions to look forward to with each season. We are going to someone's house for dinner Sunday and when I was thinking what to bring for dessert I thought of your cookies - a great excuse to make them :) I think I might even try them while they're still warm with some pumpkin ice-cream! Happy Fall!

Well...

I made 'em...
They tasted just as good as they looked on your blog and also made our little apartment smell like a bit of heaven on Saturday night. (I just love nutmeg and cinnamon). Thanks again for the recipe! They were a hit at our dinner party (and went well with the pumpkin ice-cream) - we will surely have these again!

Now, if I can just figure out a way to incorporate the leftover pumpkin puree into waffles... :)
