Micah Indy's Blessing
When we lived in Western Pennsylvania Cody was given this cute outfit. It came from Argentina and was handmade. I love the detail that went into the sweater. I love the tiny little buttons and the elephants and the feet. Cody was blessed in this outfit. David was blessed in this outfit. Micah was blessed in this outfit. I feel like we have our own little legacy. Micah's blessing was great. My favorite part was when Jeromy blessed him that he would have a special closeness with his mother.

The Abandoned Runway
David is so creative. On Sunday he was making kites to fly on that blustery day. Before long Cody joined in, because David was having success with his little paper kite. They moved on to paper airplanes. Eventually, they realized the best flying device was a plastic grocery sack attached to a string. These sacks were lifted up by the wind and flew as high as the house. I regret I didn't get pictures. It was such a fun activity! Near the end of the day I looked out back to see an assortment of abandoned airplanes still fluttering in the wind. Those fluttering airplanes confirmed to me that the best toys don't come from the store.

Three Steps to a Fast Recovery

Step 1: Surround Yourself with Flowers
My whole house is filled with flowers. Thank you, thank you, thank you to my friends and family, our home is so cheery and bright.
Step 2: Don't Cook
This freezer is stocked with dinners. You can't see the second layer of dinners behind the ones shown. I figure I won't have to cook for a month. THANK YOU!
Step 3: Get Plenty of Rest
I have Micah to thank for this. Not only is he a pretty good sleeper, but he's content when he's awake too. Micah has also made me take my life a little bit slower. I spend more time with my kids and I am more patient, in return they are better behaved, with some glaring exceptions. Micah has also brought light into my mundane chores. When I am folding the tiny little onesies and blankets and socks, the laundry doesn't seem so abysmal. I am more appreciative of my role as a mother. During my pregnancy I had to keep reminding myself that I chose to be a stay at home mom, it was a choice! Micah reminds me why I made that choice. In general I am stopping to smell the roses, and thanks to step one the're all over the place! Thank you, Micah.

Day One

Tuesday, March 11th was an eventful day for our family. It began as any morning would . . . I packed the kids lunches and got them off to school. Shortly after the boys were out the door, we dropped the girls, Noelle and her cousins Jane and Hannah, off at Aunt Courtney's and Minna, Jeromy and I headed to the hospital. My day was stop and go after that, I had hard contractions, followed by no contractions, followed by light contractions. Eventually things became more intense and it became incredibly clear that the baby was serious about coming into the world. For a while, I wondered if I was going to make it through the delivery. Jeromy was amazing; his touch was so soothing. And Minna was there to document the adventure, she alternated between tears and taking photos. Micah made his way into the world at 3:38 pm. He came in at a whopping 9 pounds 2 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. Micah had the cord wrapped around his body twice, confirming our decision to name him Indy, he was racing circles in the womb, obviously. Thus our little Micah Indy joined the Dyer family. For Indy's first photo op check this out.

Overdue
I am waiting and waiting and waiting, to no avail! I have eaten eggplant parmesan and spicy food. I've gone running, that was not a pretty picture, and I've done jumping jacks, I even attended a step aerobic class this week. Minna's here to document the experience, and I'm afraid it will happen after she leaves, check out Minna's Blog to see my most recent belly photo.
