David's Compliment

Last night we were all sitting at the dinner table when David said to me, "Mom, guess what? The teacher in the class next door to mine is even fatter than you are!" That's unbelievable, right? I smiled smugly as Jeromy, first told David that I'm not fat, just pregnant. He then continued to lecture Davey on not calling people fat, because it hurts their feelings, etc. I finally stopped Jeromy and said, "It's okay, he was just trying to pay me a compliment." I'll take what I can get!

Raise Your Hand

Last night we had a significant run in with a can of sweetened condensed milk. I was making brownies and I opened the can of milk, then put it in the sink to rinse and recycle. Seconds after I put it in the sink Noelle, who was "washing the dishes," started crying. I knew before I turned around what a mistake I made by putting that can in the sink right by where she was working. The cut was wide and deep. We called Daddy and he told us to bring her into his office. He was surprised by how deep it was. We debated taking her to the urgent care or having him fix it right there. It wasn't a hard decision, here and now or waiting who knows how many hours. After Jeromy finished he said, I understand why doctors don't treat their own children. We were a little shaky after the experience. Noelle on the other hand had a complete turn around with the cut numbed and fixed up she was as talkative as ever. She started retelling me her most recent doctor experience a month ago when she got a shot in her arm and a "pretty bandaid." Then when we went to get in the car she asked me, "Why is the car parked in a cave?" (the parking garage.) The rest of the night she talked and talked and talked. I don't think she was very traumatized. Today Jeromy told Noelle she couldn't use her hand to play or eat or anything and David piped up, "Dad she can still raise her hand."

Dream Dinners

My girlfriends took me out to lunch in celebration of my 4th baby. After lunch we went to "Dream Dinners" and put together some freezer dinners. Now I have a freezer full of dinners for when the baby comes! (I'm hoping that'll be soon . . . )

The Chocolate Party

We invited a couple of friends over for a chocolate party on Saturday night. We had a chocolate taste testing contest (along with many decadant desserts.) The results of the contest were very interesting. We had 7 different chocolates to try. All of the chocolates were cut into miniature pieces and they were all solid milk chocolate. The brands were, Sees, Godiva, Lindt, Ghiradelli, Dove, Hersheys and Symphony. Can you guess which was the winner? Symphony. Who knew? I thought I would be able to taste the waxiness in the cheap chocoloate, but I couldn't.

Let it snow!

Why we LOVE Sacramento

We LOVE that the snow is a short trip away from Sacramento. We got up this morning, had a leisurely breakfast, then decided
to go to the snow. What a great decision! It was snowing buckets about 45 minutes up the mountain. Thanks to
Grandpa Dan we had use of a 4x4 truck, so no worries about slipping. We found a place where the snow drifts were
12 feet tall. I swore I wouldn't sled, but I couldn't help myself! It was so fun. Jeromy had to build steps for us to ascend the snow
banks and then what a ride down . . . Of course Jeromy is never content unless he has something to build, so he built a labyrinth
of tunnels throughout the snow bank.

Why we LOVE Sacramento

One Sunday afternoon in January my kids wanted frozen go-gurts.
It is so nice to live in a place where you can go outside and enjoy a
cold treat on a January day. We love the weather!
Doesn't Noelle remind you of Alice in Wonderland in this picture?
