Dyer Baby #2 is also known as Jane Opal.

The long awaited baby #2 arrives.

Here's the short story. Minna was going to be induced, but had contractions all night the night before, but with no progression. We went to the hospital in the morning to get induced still having contractions. Minna was hooked up with an epidural early, which was nice. Progression was still slow until early afternoon, when she was at a 6. A mere hour (or so) later she was ready to go at a 10. She pushed for 20 minutes and Jane arrived happy and healthy and instantly proved that her lungs and vocal cords are fully developed. At this writing she can also add a couple of dirty diapers and nursing skills to her resume.

Stats:
Jane Opal Dyer - Jane is a Bagley family name and Opal is a Beard family name. But mostly we just liked the names.
8lbs even (see the picture)
20 inches
born 8-2-06 2:38pm

No complications. Minna is doing fine. She said she felt so much better afterward than the first baby.

It was very fun to introduce Hannah to Jane. She knew it was a baby, but not a play baby like her baby doll, and of course wanted to hold her. When we carefully helped Hannah hold Jane, she was very quiet and still except for patting a little on her back. It was obvious that Hannah knew this baby was special but why she's special, probably hasn't a clue.
