happy Hannah birthday

Hannah was very happy on my birthday. She shopped and ate with us all day long, all the time being a very good and patient girl. She enjoyed spending time with her grandparents (I enjoyed that too) and was sad to see them leave (I was too).
It was a fun first-time-being-a-mom birthday.

Not Hannah Banana, Hannah Pickle!

It has been so long since we've posted anything but I thought it would be great to note Hannah's awesome eating behavior. She gobbled a lemon and loved the taste of this pickle but when she got a piece of cantalope, she made faces and refused it.

Later we visited Joseph Smith's birthplace, which was once again a great experience. I really enjoyed thinking of how significant this place was. I looked around for any remnants of the cabin and the well. I found nothing.

Since Minna and I had visited the place before we didn't do the tour and instead went and found an old graveyard and just enjoyed the fall colors and took some pictures. This one turned out.

We did drive around on a dirt road and saw other old cabin sites of Joseph Smith's relatives, and an old stone bridge that was really cool, and still "bridging". It was amazing to see these structures, or remnant of structures that had been built 200 years ago and how big the rocks were and how many there were. Each of the stones used to build the foundation would have been difficult for several men to lift and there were hundreds of these rocks. I need to get those pictures off my mother's camera.
