It's Potty Time!

I never thought I would blog about something like this but I have to say, it is VERY exciting. Hannah has been a little too interested in the toilet lately so we borrowed a potty chair from a friend along with a book about a girl named Hannah who learns to use the potty. It's our first "potty book" so Dan and I had a good laugh. Hannah was very excited about the book and the potty so we put her on it right away. Before the afternoon was up, she was using it. She's gone in it a couple of times since we got it yesterday so it's looking good. It will be so nice to have only ONE in diapers!

The Dyer Sous Chef

Ever since Grandma Gracie gave Hannah a set of kitchen gear and an apron to match mama's, Hannah has been very interested in helping the cook. She likes to stir, pour, shake, roll, pat, mix and sometimes just watch. It is fun to have her with me and it gives us some bonding time. She understands so much of what is going on that I think she'll be baking our bread soon. Thanks grandma!

Bedtime

Last night, I was lying down with Hannah and I started to doze off and close my eyes. Hannah whispered, "ya'ok mama? ya'ok?" I told her I was OK, that I was just tired. Then she started to stroke my hair and face repeatedly, like I do to her. It was so sweet.

Hannah's first haircut!

Today on the first day of the new year Hannah got a haircut. I showed her how by sitting down and letting Minna snip some scissors around my head. I made it look fun so that Hannah would want to sit down to get her hair cut. It worked. We chopped it off right around her chin. She looks sooo cute. As an adult male I'm used to watching other adult females who will play with their new hair until they are used to it. Hannah hardly gave it a thought, but we love it and it fits her so well.

Before (she looks a little worried)

After (no struggle, no drama, one haircut, one happy girl)
