Camping

Dan and I drove out to Long Island this weekend to find Wildwood State Park. On the way out, we had a scheduled stop to buy/fix a part on the car. We fought traffic the entire way making a 1.5 hour trip a 3 hour trip. We finally made it, and it was a good thing- Hannah was about to pass out from whining. Despite our rough start, we had an excellent time.

The place was a nice wooded area with some grass. We ate tin-foil dinners and baked bread on a stick. Then we finished the evening off with s'mores. We slept on a mattress pad and Hannah slept on a sleeping bag. She fell asleep very easily at about 10pm. A late night for such a little girl.

The next day we took the trail from the campground that leads to the beach and threw rocks into the ocean. This worried Hannah, but we don't know why. Was it the noise the water made when the rocks splashed or was it that she didn't want us to throw the rocks? We think it was the first but we aren't sure.

In the end, she was happy to play with her pail on the beach.
